Brief
I established a digital-based media to inspire Japanese youths to take on new challenges that will extend their horizons.
I was the director of a team of over 10 editors.
Details
• In Japan, it is customary for college students to begin working soon after graduation.
However, a significant number of people abandon their jobs within two years after realising that they are uninterested in them.
• Despite the fact that there is a lot of pressure to conform, I wanted to encourage people to break free from peer pressure and be who they want to be.
• I find people that could constructively question conventions or norms to be innovative and therefore, I wanted to establish an environment and a sophisticated society in which such people could open up and express their ideas.
Intentions&Approach
Intention-1
I created a digital-based media that was widely shareable in order to promote new perspectives to as many youths as possible.
Intention-2
The media had to be considered trustworthy and intelligent in order to persuade people to follow their dreams and aspirations.
Approach
I made a Vision, Mission, and Values Statement.
Vision
‘Londam will empower people in taking action with their shiny new knowledge in order to make the world a better place than it ever was.’
Missions
‘Londam guides to share new knowledge that will help people in discovering new views of the world.’
‘Londam exists to create a culture where all people could co-exist by understanding, respecting, and appreciating each other.’
Values statement
‘Keep discovering a piece of a brighter tomorrow.’
‘Say what you like, and respect what others like.’
‘From someone’s small step forward to a giant leap for all.’
‘To change the world with everyone, we will change first.’
Intention-3
The media must provide people with a variety of life possibilities by sharing information from a different perspective than the conventional one.
Approach-1
In order to do so, we focused on interviewing non-ordinary people—who held contrary views or had unique experiences.
Approach-2
We also made sure that the editing team had the opportunity to experience such a variety of life possibilities that are not available on the internet so that they could write stories about them and influence the readers.

Intention-4
In order to avoid accidental adverts becoming incompatible with the Brand, we thoroughly examined business associates that we sold our advertising space to.
Approach-1
We gave presentations to companies whose products we wanted more young people to know. Thus, we were able to sell advertising space on our media, ensuring brand continuity as well.
Approach-2
We also aimed to raise funds by giving presentations to venture capitalists and investors.
Creative Originality
• In order to increase the number of touch-point to our consumers, we issued not only letter-based digital media but also electronic magazines.
• In order to produce collectable characteristics of a paper magazine on the web, I designed the layout to secure legibility, which motivated our subscribers to collect the magazines on their favourite e-book apps.
• That also aimed to enhance brand loyalty.
• To make the magazine worth being owned on devices and being recommended to others, we carefully selected its contents so that it remains valuable and useful in the long term.

Result
• As a result, Londam was reported twice: On a digital media called Imatabi‘ and the official newspaper of Aoyama Gakuin University.
• Moreover, three companies have agreed to sponsor the startup for Londam.
• In the end, Londam reached over 1,000 subscribers in a month.
